Gorgeous Gratitude

When I tune into gratitude I see the world differently. Working with gratitude helps me shift my focus onto the things I appreciate. I see a world where I am supported and there is much to be joyful about. And the more I practice gratitude the more grateful and connected to the joys of life I become.

Come along if you want to:
  • practice appreciating yourself and others
  • Explore what gets in the way of being grateful
  • Say thank you in a way that communicates how much you value what has been done or said
  • Develop practices to bring more gratitude and celebration to your daily life
  • Have an experience of living in the space of gratefulness
This is a one day workshop suitable for beginners and those with some experience of Nonviolent Communication.
Befriending Your Inner Critic

Would you believe me if I told you that your inner critic only has your highest good in mind when he or she is prodding and poking and judging and blaming? Would you like to learn how to understand what your inner critic is really trying to say to you? To hear it as supportive messages of care for you that could actually help you make life-serving choices? Imagine what a difference it would make to your life to hear supportive and caring messages instead of blame and judgement. We will use self-empathy to learn how to translate the critical messages and hear the loving intention behind them.

Requested Contribution: £70 / £60 / £50
Deep Listening Empathy Training

In this one day workshop we explore the art of really listening to another. Listening beyond the specific words and the story someone tells to the deepest meaning of what they are trying to communicate. So rather than getting bogged down by what they say, there is the potential for connection, communication, understanding.

This course is suitable for those new to NVC and those with some experience.

Practical Nonviolence

'At the centre of non-violence stands the principle of love.' Martin Luther King Jr.

Is the way you communicate working for you? Does it sometimes seem that your message is not getting across? Do you find yourself feeling annoyed, frustrated or powerless when talking with others? Would you like some alternative strategies for how to speak and respond with strength and compassion, at home, at work or in the wider world?

In this practical workshop we will explore how to bring compassion, honesty, and courage to our interactions with ourselves and others, expressing ourselves and listening with clarity and care.

Session 1: Understanding behaviours - ours and our children's from a feelings / needs perspective
Session 2: Taking care of ourselves first - offering understanding for our difficulties, struggles and joys in our journeys as parents
Session 3: Transforming Habitual responses - transforming judging and blaming into care, compassion and understanding
Session 4: Observations and Requests - breaking down the communication process into simple steps
Session 5: The NVC Tree of Life - a way of looking at the whole communication model and how it works
Session 6: Working with No - how to stay in connection when you hear a 'no' from your child
Session 7: Nonviolent Communication as an Approach to Parenting - a Partnership approach alternative to either dominant or permissive parenting
Session 8: Proactive Conversations - working things out when you're connected rather than in the heat of the moment. Gratitude - how to express gratitude in a way that your children will really get how certain behaviours contribute to your well being.
